Weekend Supervisor

Shift: Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

At The Pink Piano Cafe, our best people don't wait to be told what needs doing. They spot the milk jug before it runs dry. They wipe the counters before anyone asks. They can go from steaming a latte to pressing a panini to restocking the bakery case without missing a beat, because they're always looking for what's next.

About the Role

Our Cafe Associates do it all: drinks, food, baking, the floors, and everything in between (yes, that occasionally includes rearranging furniture). No egos here, we all help out with whatever is needed. 

As our Weekend Shift Supervisor, you'll be a working part of the team while also taking ownership of the shift. You'll make sure our busy weekends run smoothly and the cafe is set up for success from open to close.

We're looking for someone dependable and detail-oriented who can confidently oversee the flow of the day, support their teammates, and make sure guests leave having had a great experience.

What You'll Do

• Prepare specialty drinks and food, start to finish.
• Keep the bakery case stocked with fresh baked goods.
• Welcome and serve guests with genuine hospitality.
• Keep the space clean, organized, and ready for guests.
• Move fluidly between stations: drinks, food, floor, whatever the shift needs.
• Open and close the cafe, including cash handling and till procedures.
• Be the go-to person for guests and team during your shift.
• Keep an eye on the whole shift and step in wherever it's needed: staffing, stock, or a guest concern.
• Notice what needs to happen next, without being asked.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has keyholder, shift lead, or supervisor experience.
• Is mature, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership and making calls independently.
• Notices details other people miss.
• Stays busy and finds productive things to do, even in quiet moments.
  
• Is friendly and outgoing, with the people skills to handle whatever conversation walks in or calls in.
  
• Is looking for a long-term role in a supportive team environment. This isn't a summer job.
• Is comfortable handling cash and closing procedures with accuracy and trust.
  
• Has (or is willing to obtain before starting) Food Handlers and Serve Right Certifications.

Bonus Qualifications

Please mention in your application if you have any of the following which are considered an asset:

• Barista or line cook experience
• Experience in a fast-paced cafe, restaurant, or retail environment
  
• Current First Aid and/or WHMIS certification
