At The Pink Piano Cafe, our best people don't wait to be told what needs doing. They spot the milk jug before it runs dry, wipe the counters before anyone asks, and can go from steaming a latte to pressing a panini to restocking the bakery case without missing a beat. They're always looking for what's next.

And they're all about hospitality, not just customer service. Customer service is taking an order. Hospitality is noticing when someone needs a little extra help, making a first-time guest feel welcome, remembering a regular's name, and creating an experience people want to come back to.

Whether someone is here for their morning coffee, an afternoon treat, or just a place to hang out, we want them to feel welcome, comfortable, and like they belong.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Cafe Associates do it all: drinks, food, baking, floors, and everything in between (yes, that occasionally includes rearranging furniture). They're figure-it-out people who aren't afraid to try something new, learn as they go, and jump in when a hand is needed. No egos, no “that's not my job.” We're a team, and we pitch in, help each other out, solve problems together, and keep things moving.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare specialty drinks and light fare.
• Keep the bakery case stocked with fresh baked goods.
• Welcome and serve guests with genuine hospitality.
• Keep the space clean, organized, and ready for guests.
• Move fluidly between stations: drinks, food, floor, whatever the shift needs.
• Open and close the cafe, including cash handling and till procedures.
• Share your ideas and look for new ways to make things better.
• Be a proud and positive ambassador for The Pink Piano in our community.

REQUIRED

Applicants must have (or will obtain before their start date) the following certifications:

• Food Handlers Certification
• Serve Right Certification 

BONUS IF...

Please mention in your application if you have any of the following which are considered an asset:

• Barista or line cook experience
• Experience in a fast-paced cafe, restaurant, or retail environment
  
• Current First Aid and/or WHMIS certification
